PANCREAS
Case #5 -
A 45 year old with confusion and weight gain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
6.) How can we localize the tumor?

The tumor may be localized by CT scan and by preoperative or intraoperative ultrasound examination. Selective angiography demonstrates the tumor in about 50% of cases. Percutaneous transhepatic venous blood sampling from various sites along the splenic and portal veins may be done and the insulin level measured in the various samples to localize the site of the tumor.
