Squamous cell cancer (clinical) |
Detail:
Hyperkeratotic papules, nodules, or plaques that may be erythematous and scaly, and even ulcerated. Exhibits a rapid growth pattern; can double in size in weeks or months. Unlike basal cell carcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas have a high potential of metastasis, particularly those found on mucous membranes, on areas previously treated with gamma radiation, and those related to chronic irritation or inflammation.
