Case #1 - A 58 year old with a swollen leg

 
CLINICAL CASE:
A 58 year old female international arbitration lawyer developed swelling and pain in her left lower extremity a few days after returning from a trip to Jordan. On physical examination the patient was overweight (5'6'', 210 pounds). She had 2+ pitting left ankle edema and mild calf tenderness on anterior-posterior compression.
