VASCULAR SURGERY
Case #7 -
A 55 year old with acute R leg and foot pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
9.) How do you revascularize the limb in the case of an embolus? In the case of a thrombus?

Embolic occlusion of the artery is treated by an embolectomy using a balloon tipped catheter. A thrombotic occlusion usually involves a longer segment of the vessel and therefore requires bypass prodecure.
