DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
9.) What are the limitations of these additional studies?

The patient must be actively bleeding for these further studies to be useful. For a tagged red cell scan, the rate of bleeding should be at least 0.5cc/min. For arteriography to show source of bleeding, the rate of bleeding should be at least 1 cc/min.
