SMALL INTESTINE AND APPENDIX
Case #9 -
A 30 year old man presented with generalized abdominal pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
12.) What should be done if it is discovered incidentally?

In adults, the risk of complication is low. If discovered incidentally, the diverticulum should be resected if it is larger than 2 cm, if it is associated with an omphalomesenteric band, or if it contains a palpable mass (tumor or ectopic mucosa).
