A 30 year old man presented with generalized abdominal pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
8.) What is the embryology of Meckel's diverticulum?

The omphalomesenteric or vitelline duct, which is usually obliterated in early gestation, fails to resorb completely. The Meckel's diverticulum is a true diverticulum located on the antimesenteric border of the bowel in the distal ileum.
