Case #6 - A 47 year old man admitted for acute pancreatitis

 
CLINICAL CASE:
A 47 year old man, a known alcoholic, was admitted for acute pancreatitis of moderate severity. This resolved with conservative management. He presented three weeks after discharge with persisting epigastric and back pain and nausea. He had not taken any alcohol since leaving the hospital. On physical examination, epigastric tenderness and a vague mass were noted.
