Bio
Lorena Alarcon-Casas Wright, M.D., is a board-certified physician at the UW Diabetes Institute, The Endocrine Clinic at UWMC-Roosevelt and the Endocrine/Diabetes Clinic at Harborview and a UW associate professor of Medicine and Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition. Dr Wright is a member of the UW Medicine Diversity Council and the Clinic Director of the LatinX Diabetes Clinic at the SLU Diabetes Institute.
As an endocrinologist, providing gender affirming hormonal therapy to transgender adults is one of my clinical passions. I find myself continuously impressed by my patients’ courage, conviction and resilience and I am humbled to be part of their journey to freedom, health and happiness. I provide consultative care for TGNB patients with complex conditions or nuanced situations that may benefit from another perspective.
I also am a diabetes specialist, so I would be a good fit for gender diverse patients who also have diabetes that is not responding to first line treatments. In either case, see your PCP first and ask for a consult and referral to me.
