Randy Ching, PhD: Research Associate Professor, Applied Biomechanics Lab Director
Dr. Randy Ching is the director of the Applied Biomechanics Lab in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Washington. He has over 20 years of experience investigating the treatment and prevention of degenerative musculoskeletal disorders and trauma specializing in head, neck, and spine pathologies. He also has extensive experience in whole body biomechanics research.

Irving Scher, PhD PE: Principal Engineer, Guidance Engineering and Applied Research
Dr. Irving Scher is the Principal Engineer of Guidance Engineering and Applied Research and specializes in biomechanical engineering and accident reconstruction. He has reconstructed accidents involving injuries including aircraft, bicycle, motor vehicle, industrial, cycling, and skiing and snowboarding. Dr. Scher has dedicated years of research to skiing and snowboarding safety and has conducted award-winning research in the areas of snow sport safety.
Jeff Campbell, MSME: Research Assistant
Jeff Campbell is a Ph.D. student under the direction of Dr. Randy Ching and a consultant for Dr. Irving Scher. He has over nine years experience in biomechanics and orthopaedic research. He has 28 years of skiing experience and was a competitive professional skier before graduate school. He has appeared on the covers of several of the top ski editorial magazines in the country and has extensive experience in terrain parks and freeskiing.
