The Founders Fellows Summer Research Stipend provides 2-5 awards each year to UW Bothell undergraduate students participating in a structured research project over the summer. Award amount is up to $3,000.


  • Student must have a UW faculty or staff mentor
  • Student must be an undergraduate student at UW Bothell.
  • Student is expected to participate in some of the Summer Fundamentals research workshops provided by Connected Learning or another similar research skills and community-building program. Summer Fundamentals workshops will be held on campus on Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm between June 17-August 9 (a complete schedule will be provided to award recipients).
  • Student must provide a Connected Learning News blog article (min 3 paragraphs) with an image that summarizes their research experience when they are finished. Posted at

Applications are due in May. For 2024, applications are due May 15, 2024. Applications can be submitted after May 15, but awards will be issued on a first-come basis and depending on the remaining funds available.

This award is made possible due to the Founders Endowment Fund and managed by Connected Learning.
