The goal of this project is to develop power electronics for projects within the UW Sensors, Energy, and Automation Laboratory (SEAL). The immediate need is for the Plasma Actuator for Aircraft Control and the Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) Mask projects.

Student Outcomes

Students will gain insight into power converter design and development, report writing, participation in proposal efforts, and a potential conference paper.

Student Qualifications

Strong background in at least two of the following areas: power electronics, analog/digital electronics, and PCB design; working knowledge of tools such as LTspice, Multisim, and Express SCH.

Student Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the design and implementation of high-voltage converters, weekly progress report writing, and contribution to a proposal.

Time Commitment

A minimum of one quarter and up to a year commitment.
