The Department of Theatre Arts at Baylor University seeks a Visiting Temporary
Lecturer in Theatre History, Literature, and Theory for the 2022-2023 academic
year, August-May.
Join a robust and dynamic theatre program with BA, BFA Performance, BFA
Design/Tech, MA Theatre Studies, and MFA Directing degree programs. We seek a
colleague to teach undergraduate and graduate students. Course topics may include
Theatre History, Dramatic Literature, Dramaturgy, Dramatic Theory, Research Methods;
opportunity to teach seminars in area of specialization.
Applicants should possess PhD in Theatre History, Theatre Studies, Performance
Studies, or closely related field; ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates whose
research specializations offer academic diversity to the program’s existing faculty
profiles are particularly encouraged to apply; examples include theater for social
change, theatre of Central and South America, the African diaspora, Francophone
theatre and drama, theatre and disability studies, etc.
The successful candidate will be
expected to maintain active national and/or international research and publication
agenda in area of specialization. Teaching experience is preferred. Applicants for fulltime teaching positions at the University are asked to provide a statement of religious faith demonstrating understanding and compatibility with Baylor’s Christian mission.
