Changes in AEP Placement
In response to UW International & English Language Programs’ recent announcement about changes in AEP Placement (see below), GEMS has removed references to the AEP Placement Test from the Graduate School’s website.
Please direct students with an English Language Proficiency Requirement per Memo 8 to the AEP placement webpage. Thank you for helping us support your students meet their requirements for graduate study at the UW.
UW IELP Announcement – Academic English Program (AEP) Placement:
UW International & English Language Programs has discontinued the AEP Placement Test for placing into/exempting from Academic English Program classes.
If you have students with an English Language Proficiency Requirement per Memo 8, please direct them to the AEP placement webpage. This page lists all the commercial tests that are accepted for determining placement. Some of the new test options allow students to take the test at home, with flexible scheduling, at a cost lower than the discontinued AEP test.
