2020 Enrollment Updates: Certified Electronic Transcripts

Effective for 2020, the Graduate School is now accepting certified electronic transcripts to verify degree(s) of incoming graduate students. While GEMS will continue to accept mailed paper transcripts, we encourage e-transcripts to save students shipping costs, expedite enrollment, and support the UW’s green initiatives. This development is especially timely considering that many institutions are operating remotely due to COVID-19 and delivery of paper transcripts may be impeded from certain countries.

With this announcement, GEMS has made the following updates:

• New instructions in the Submit Final Degree Transcript section of the Graduate Application Pre-Registration Page. Viewable in MyGrad > Graduate Applicant Detail > Appl Status

• New Official Transcript Requirements page. If you include information about submitting transcripts to the Graduate School on your departmental webpages or in your orientation materials, please update your links to direct students to this new page.
• New Submit Final Degree Transcript information on the Admitted International Graduate Students page.
