Updates to MyGrad, Memo 19, and Doctoral Videoconferencing
Please be advised of the following updates:
- A new Admissions Profile status of INACTIVE has been created in MyGrad. This new status is for the purpose of marking a program that is temporarily suspending admissions after following the Guidelines for Suspending Admissions to a Graduate Program and will be applied to an application profile by a GEMS team member upon receiving a notification of approval from the Graduate School Academic Affairs team. The status of EDIT should no longer be used when temporarily suspending admissions.
- The Graduate Council approved a change to Memo 19 to align the policy on S/NS grading with the recent change made to the Scholastic Regulations. The change allows students to change to S/NS grading through the last day of finals week.
- Regarding the Instructions for Video Conferencing in Doctoral Examinations, currently the COVID guidance says that video conferencing will be allowed through Winter Quarter 2022. However, virtual / video conferencing will be allowed on a permanent basis going forward from Spring 2022. GEMS is working with Academic Affairs & Planning on updates to the Graduate School Requirements outlined on the page linked above. Those changes will be published as soon as that work is completed.
