WaNPRC’s Dr. Nichole Klatt among Winners of 2015 Avant-Garde Award

Nichole Klatt, Ph.D., core investigator with the Washington National Primate Research Center (WaNPRC), awarded $2.5 million to research the impact of cannabis on inflammation and viral persistence in treated HIV/SIV.

Klatt is one of five awardees of the Avant-Garde Award for HIV/AIDS Research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes for Health. Each award is intended to stimulate high-impact research that may lead to groundbreaking opportunities for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in drug users.
