ADAI Co-hosts Heroin & Opioid Overdose Prevention Summit

The UW Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute and the US Attorney for Western Washington are co-sponsoring a conference on Feb 10, 2015 about heroin & prescription opioid overdose prevention.  Keynote speaker will be Michael Botticelli, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

This one-day summit will bring together various disciplines that combat heroin and prescription opioid overdoses to exchange information and find more effective ways to: implement overdose prevention programs; provide naloxone to first responders and community members; support the implementation of Washington State’s Good Samaritan Overdose law, and more.

The audience for the (free) conference includes law enforcement, prosecutors, public health, prevention/education professionals, policy makers, opioid treatment providers, and others who work with individuals and communities impacted by heroin/opioid abuse and misuse.
