Memorials on Campus
The University of Washington’s history is rich with military ties. It is evident not only in our original charter and our history books, but on the physical grounds of our campus. At its entryway lies a massive dedication to the service members of World War I, World War II, and those who have received the Medal of Honor in its entry columns, memorials along Memorial drive, and the trees that adorn the road that leads to these hallowed halls of education. It is only by highlighting these rich ties that we can understand this campus as it relates to the military and its veterans.
