The Betty Bowen Award is an annual $15,000 unrestricted grant given to visual artists in all media working in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho. This award was established to honor Betty Bowen (1918-1977) who was an enthusiastic supporter of Northwest contemporary art. I want to make sure that as many artists as possible are aware that this opportunity exists with hopes that a wide array of artists and media are represented in the pool of applicants.
