Blackrock: Print Shop Assistant

Job Description
Do you like making cool stuff? Have you ever been in one of those rustic throw-back looking restaurants in Seattle and wondered where they get all those rusted steel pieces and ancient looking wood beams? Well, that’s us! And here’s your chance to be part of the behind-the-scenes crew of the hippest, fastest-growing city on the map!

We need someone with a passion for design and fabrication. Architecture, one-of-a-kind furnishings and installations, graphic design, interior décor – if these things speak to you, you need to speak to us!

Blackrock Industries is looking for an entry level print and design assistant! But we are more than just your average print shop.

Our primary duty is bridging the digital world with the physical – we draw and design things that need to be built. Sometimes from a full client brief, most times from a napkin sketch. The only knowledge we ask that you bring through the door is functional knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and basic 3D modeling. If you’ve ever built anything in a garage or wood shop, and know how to read a tape measure, that is a huge plus. You will need to know your way around Windows computer, and if you understand basic PC and Mac troubleshooting, that is also a plus. Everything else you will learn over the course of your time with us. And you will learn plenty.

This will be a multi-disciplined position, ranging in everything from digital print production, vinyl graphic installation, 2D and 3D rendered mock ups, to product photography and helping us maintain a social media presence. Your duties will begin with admin work, all other skills will be trained per project.
