The Editorial Copywriter is responsible for writing advanced creative and compelling copy for events posted on our website. We are looking for copy that is witty, whimsical and in-the-know. This position works closely with our design and merchandising teams to develop effective and compelling copy that reflects the zulily brand. Ability to work effectively within diverse groups and independently is a must. This position reports to the Studio Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Write clear, creative copy for website and mobile assets including brand and event descriptions
- Work with merchant teams to accurately and effectively communicate product information and creative vision, researching independently
- Work on creative initiatives from concept to completion, in conjunction with the merchant teams and special events team
- Frequent quick fixes and revision of existing messaging
- Create and maintain event titles and event highlights
- Adhere to the zulily voice and style guidelines
- Other day-to-day duties and project-based work as required

- Bachelor of Arts in English or related area of expertise
- Minimum two years of writing experience
- Exceptional writing skills
- Highly developed organizational skills
- Ability to balance multiple projects
- Ability to prioritize your workload
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to own your work and hold responsibility for it
- Editorial style writing experience
- Strong command of the English language (including spelling, grammar, punctuation)
- Knowledge of AP style guide
- Ability to pass an editorial writing test
