Chihuly Garden And Glass Annual Anniversary Scholarship Award
In celebration of its anniversary, Chihuly Garden and Glass will partner with Chihuly Studio to award a $10,000 scholarship to an emerging artist interested in the medium of glass.
The Pacific Northwest is recognized as a global center for glass art. Chihuly Garden and Glass and Chihuly Studio are proud to support local artists who are interested in furthering their education in the medium of glass through this annual scholarship. Since its opening, Chihuly Garden and Glass has celebrated the vibrancy of arts in its community and this scholarship is one of the ways the exhibition continues that tradition.
Up to twenty-five percent of the scholarship can be used for materials. The remainder of the funds will be directed toward attending Pilchuck Glass School and/or Pratt Fine Arts Center—two leading glass art organizations that will provide the recipient with valuable educational resources and training. Each applicant will be reviewed by a committee of local art professionals who will collectively identify which applicant would most benefit from the scholarship based on the content included in their application. The scholarship funds will be available from June 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.
APPLICATION
All applications must include a completed application form, three images of current work, curriculum vitae (CV) and a response to the following three prompts:
Why are you interested in working in the medium of glass?
If you receive the scholarship, what course of work or study will you fund?
How will this award further your work and/or long-term goals?

ELIGIBILITY
Each applicant must:
Be an emerging visual artist within the first ten years of their career and interested in working in the medium of glass
A Washington resident
18 years or older

DEADLINE
All applications must be submitted online by Monday, April 29, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PST. There will be no extensions for submitting applications. The awardee will be announced by May 19, 2020.
