Glassybaby seeks seasonal glassblower

glassybaby is currently seeking experienced glassblowers to produce our one-of-a-kind, hand-blown, glass votive candle holders and drinking glasses this season. join the glassybaby team to hand blow glass and earn top wages in a safe environment where procedures reflect  COVID 19 guidelines. Schedules up to 40 hours per week available now through December 20th.

the glassybaby team of shop technicians, operations managers and employees have implemented innovative ideas to change glassblowing processes during COVID-19. using technology and engineering controls has allowed glassybaby to make adjustments that allow glassblowers to perform their craft in a safer way during the pandemic. our safety procedures were reviewed and endorsed by DOHS through Washington State Labor & Industries.  This provides glassblowers a way to get back to work while providing income replacement and helps the organization survive and build up much needed inventory.

glassybaby are works of art, as unique as the individual who chooses one, formed by eight hands, born in the usa, citizen of the world, each one with its own name, one of a kind. kind of like you. physically, a glassybaby is a colorful, handblown glass votive made by hand in our hotshop.

since day one, glassybaby has been all about giving, and giving back to organizations that support people in all kinds of need. to date, glassybaby has donated more than ten million dollars to charities dedicated to healing.

qualifications: 

  • demonstrated experience as a glass blower
  • willingness and ability to work as part of a team
  • ability to consistently work as scheduled within a cohort team
  • strong communication skills
  • off-hand glass production skills highly valued
  • adhere to social distancing and PPE requirements (including wearing a mask for an entire shift)
  • participate in daily covid-19 procedures including wellness and temperature checks
  • tolerate exposure to cold or heat, machinery such as furnaces and high levels of noise
  • ability to continually bend, stoop, stand, sit, step up, reach and physically lift up to 25lbs throughout shift
