2022-2023 Frances Blakemore and Griffith Way Internship Program

The deadline for the 2022-2023 Frances Blakemore and Griffith Way Internship Program is quickly approaching. All UW students who are interested in this opportunity for the Fall 2022, Winter 2023, or Spring 2023 academic quarters should submit their application materials by 5PM on July 22.

This year’s paid internships offer an opportunity for students of East Asian art, culture, and history to work at a top ranked Asian art museum. Under the mentorship of SAM’s Asian art curators, interns will gain intimate knowledge about the day-to-day responsibilities of a curator, enhance their knowledge of Asian art, and gain professional research experience in an area directly related to their studies.

Applicants may fill out the attached form and submit their materials directly tointernships@seattleartmuseum.org, with their name in the Subject line. Applicants may also apply through the UW Handshake account found on the UW Career Services website, or apply electronically through our website here.

Graduate students in East Asian Studies and Art History are preferred, though we will also consider students in other degree programs who have a strong, demonstrated interest in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean Studies. The internship may be divided among students on a quarterly basis, depending on applicant availability.

Students are welcome to contact internships@seattleartmuseum.org if they have any questions or need assistance with the application process.
