Coyote Central and Photo Center Northwest are partnering to deliver two week-long film photography workshops this summer. We are seeking a volunteer darkroom assistant to help assist our teaching artist in getting these kids hooked on the magic of 35mm film! Here are the details:
Each week-long camp will take place at Photo Center Northwest, with 8 middle-school students, led by a professional artist. The camp will use black & white film, cover a range of photography types from street to portraiture, and develop in the darkroom! For our volunteer, darkroom and photography experience are great, but not required — more important is your sense of enthusiasm for working with young people, and ability to go with the creative flow and have fun.
Volunteer duties:
– help students to use equipment safely and correctly
– assist the Teaching Artist when needed with demos, setup, and cleanup
Schedule:
Week #1 is July 17-21, 9am-1pm each day (20 hours)
Week #2 is July 31- Aug 4, 9am-1pm each day (20 hours)
Interested? —> please email your resume to marijke@coyotecentral.org, along with your name, phone number, availability for Week 1 or Week 2, and a fun fact about yourself! We will be in touch to arrange informal interviews the week of May 1.
