Grey Matters Cultural Showcase Art Gallery

UW’s Grey Matters club is looking for artists to display their art for our Cultural Showcase on October 6th, 2023! Our theme is Diversity in Neuroscience.

While subjects pertaining directly to neuroscience are encouraged, please note that almost any work can be tied back to our central theme. For example, the five senses (smell, taste, touch, see, hear) and thus indirectly perspective/perception can be related to neuroscience. In this way, how you view the world and any art that you subsequently create may relate to neuroscience.

We would love to invite you to share your art (either previously created or a new piece depending on your preference) at our event! Our Cultural Showcase will take place on October 6th, 2023 from 5:00-7:00pm overall, with performances from 5:00-6:00pm and our art gallery exhibition from 6:00-7:00pm. Artists are invited to set up their piece(s) at 5:30pm at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center Unity Suite (3931 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105) or at 4:30pm if they would like to watch the artistic performances beforehand. Grey Matters will provide easels and tables/chairs for artists to talk to viewers alongside their work(s).

If you are interested in participating in our art gallery exhibition, please fill out this brief form: https://forms.gle/fbPa1He5aoVrZGUE6. Interest form submissions are due by September 17th.

After your response to the form has been recorded, we will reach out to you by September 29th! If you’re interested in displaying your art but don’t know how to connect your works to neuroscience, please contact Jeanne at jeannevn@uw.edu. We’d be happy to help you brainstorm some connections between themes.
