Camp Taconic, a co-ed sleep away camp in Western, MA, is currently hiring upbeat and enthusiastic counselors to be role models for our campers this summer. We’re specifically looking for specialty counselors in ceramics, woodworking and crafts to work in our Fine Arts Center. This is the perfect opportunity for college students studying in these fields of study looking for a summer internship or job. We provide room and board for the summer, a salary plus travel reimbursement, internship credit and it is an overall wonderful experience!
This is a summer job position, beginning June 13, 2024 and ending August 10, 2024. At Taconic, we have a full program of activities. One of our premier program groups is Fine Arts! Fine Arts counselors work closely with our outstanding Arts and Tech team to instruct campers within an activity area. During a summer at camp, counselors gain invaluable experience teaching, mentoring, working with children and more! We are looking for counselors that are not only passionate about and creative in their activity area but who also have the ability to teach and develop the campers’ skills in that area. Each counselor also lives with a bunk of campers, ages 8-16. Throughout the summer, your job is to monitor the social, emotional, and physical well being of your campers. You are helping with your campers during meals, bunk time and evening activities.
SALARY INFO: The salary depends on the counselor’s age and experience, but starts at $2,200 plus room and board and travel reimbursement. As you can imagine working with children is a 24/7 job, however we do of course give counselors time off each day/week including a few hours in the middle of each day, 4 nights off a week (10pm-1am) and 1 day off each week.
