Bartells: Social Media and Events Manager

Job Summary :

Through our marketing internship program, you’ll have the opportunity to assert your passion for social media and events planning amidst a fast-paced retail marketing environment. Bring your creativity, a strong work ethic, customer service skills and new ideas to our digital marketing team as you collaborate in the conceptualization, development and execution of our social media and events plan of action.

Reports to: Social Media and Events Manager

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work alongside the Social Media and Events Manager to brainstorm compelling social media content that delights and inspires our customers.
  • Assist with writing copy for social media posts, Bartell blog posts, and our Bartell email newsletters. Appropriately schedule these posts according to a monthly schedule.
  • Work to build a meaningful relationship with our online community, increase engagement, and further develop Bartells’ presence and appeal across all social platforms.
  • Closely monitor and respond thoughtfully, timely and professionally to customer comments that arise on all our social media channels; leverage community management tracking tools to organize and support excellent customer service.
  • Assist with tracking and reporting social media analytics
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to conceptualize new events and ways to bring new components to our existing events
  • Organize, schedule and coordinate event details, including contacting vendor partners to ensure proper execution and that all details are accounted for.
  • Help with event execution day-of, ready to greet and interact with customers, problem-solve and ensure the event meets/exceeds our goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media and digital trends to share with social media team.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the mechanics of effective social media tactics.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and written communication skills, with affinity for proofreading, copywriting, and editing.
  • Passion for connecting with people; customer service-oriented with the intention to meet and exceed customer expectations
  • Serve as a collaborative team player, with a willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks in order to get the job done.
  • Proficient with technology and PC platforms; ability to use of standard office programs and networks including: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest. Ability to learn and leverage new technology tools such as Sprout Social.

 

Education and Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; some college experience
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week, with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends in support of event execution
  • Ability to travel to various locations for on-site event support, within 100 miles of Downtown Seattle
