He is interested in application of organic geochemistry to emerging environmental issues such as climate change and pollutant distributions and sinks in marine systems. Jaqui Neibauer – Research Oceanographer jaqui@u.washington.edu Jaqui is the proud mom of a darling baby daughter, a proud UW Ocean alum (class of 2006 ) and the lab manager for the AOG group. She specializes in analyses that involve GC or GC/MS. |

For his research, Nick is evaluating fluxes of carbon and nutrients into Hood Canal and their impact on local hypoxia. Nick comes to the lab from UCSD / Scripps where he worked with Lahini Aluiware. | |

Tansy Clay (tansy@uw.edu) is a postdoctoral associate who combined education research with biological oceanography. Tansy has been instrumental in developing SoundCitizen curricular materials and in helping COSEE meet the oureach needs of local scientists. |

On the right is Brittany Kimball. Brittany is a 2008 UW Ocean and ESS alum. She studied endocrine disrupting compounds in the marine environment. Brittany runs our SoundCitizen project. On the left is Allsion Meyers-Pigg. Allsion is in her second year as a double major in Oceanography and Environmental Sciences. Allison has worked on SoundCitizen since her first day on UW’s campus, and is now implementing techniques to measure phthalates in SoundCitizen samples.

Kelsey McDuffee – MS degree, July 2009 (co-advised by Rick and Anitral Ingalls). Kelsey studied the recent history of Clayoquot Sound BC using a variety of organic tracers in a varved core from Tofino Inlet. Prior to coming to UW, Kelsey got her BS from UC Irvine and has worked with Tim Eglinton, Ellen Druffel and Sue Trumbore. Kelsey is currently hiking on Mount Rainier and planning her upcoming wedding to her fiance Dan. |

Britta Voss - BS 2009 – Britta received her BS and then ran off to WHOI where she is studying carbon and metal flow in rivers. Britta is a two-time recipient of Mary Gats Research Scholarships, a Hollings Award winner, a smart cookie and a pleasure to have in the lab. |

Harriet Cole (left) is a student in the UK at Sounthampton University. She is studying oceanography and was an exchange student at UW in 2008-2009.
Liana Meireles-Singh (right) has a BS in Oceanography (2008). Liana managed lab paperwork and the sample archive. In addition, Liana helped start the SoundCitizen program and processed spice samples. For her undergraduate thesis Liana studied the effects of the anti-microbial agent triclosan on the heterotrophic bacteria of Puget Sound. |

Christina Biladeau is a 2008 UW alum with a BS in Oceanography. She cares about sediment traps and can splice a line like nobodies business. Christina worked in AOG processing sedimen trap samples and running XPS samples. She is currently a Nutrient Procurement Specialist at a major company in downtown Seattle |

Anna Belcher (on the right) is another SoundCitizen alumn from the UK. Anna helped develop fun outreach components (our quizzers) and processed spice and pollutant samples for the lab. Anna is currently finishing her thesis in the UK at Southampton University studying current dynamics between Portsmouth and Bilbao. |

Brandon Knox is a 2008 UW Oceanography alum with a BS in oceanography. While he was with us, Brandon worked in the lab analyzing a variety of marine sediment samples for terrestrial compounds. He is currently in grad school in Nevada. |
