To evaluate settling particles, AOG utilizes sediment net traps. Net traps have two advantages for AOG over traditional traps such as PIT or Mark78 traps. First, they are light-weight and easily transported. Second, they have much larger collection areas than regular traps, allowing rapid collection of material (typical deployments are 1-2 days) for organic workup.
