Maria Rodriguez, MA, SHRM-SCP
Maria Rodriguez (she/her) is originally from Seattle and attended the University of Washington as an undergraduate student. Over the last five years, Maria has had the opportunity to work with UWHR’s UTemp Staffing program, supporting departments across the University with their temporary and non-permanent staffing needs. During this time, Maria co-taught POD’s UW Hiring Processes class for supervisors and hiring managers on how to use the University’s HRIS tools and hiring services. Prior to coming to the Bioethics and Humanities department, Maria supported the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering's eScience Institute, as an interim HR Manager. In addition to staffing for various roles in the department, Maria was able to support and staff the new Scientific Software’s Engineering Center, a center designed to bring industry’s leading software engineers to the University, to help advance open-source software for research. As an interim Program Manager, Maria is the HR lead and administers the Advanced Training in Healthcare Ethics (ATHE) program and other fiscal and administrative tasks. Maria is enthusiastic about the University and genuinely loves working and supporting the individuals and teams who impact knowledge and the future of science and research. She truly bleeds purple and gold!
