Dr. Albert “Al” Rupert Jonsen, Ph.D. led Bioethics and Humanities (then the Department of Medical History and Ethics) from 1987 to 1999.

Rev. Dr. Thomas R. McCormick was Senior Lecturer Emeritus in the Department of Bioethics and Humanities, School of Medicine, University of Washington. Rev. Dr.

J. Randall (Randy) Curtis, MD, MPH, passed away on Feb. 6, surrounded by family. Dr. Curtis was a professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the UW School of Medicine and a holder of the A. Bruce Montgomery – American Lung Association Endowed Chair in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Deborah "Deb" Bowen joined the Department of Bioethics and Humanities as a professor in 2014. She later served as Chair of the department.
