Clawpack 4.3:

Welcome to the CLAWPACK site at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Washington.

CLAWPACK is a software package designed to compute numerical solutions to hyperbolic partial differential equations using a wave propagation approach.

• Various extensions of CLAWPACK are available:
  • CLAWMAN -- for solving problems on curved manifolds
  • TsunamiClaw -- for solving shallow water wave propagation and inundation problems
  • ChomboClaw -- The functionality of CLAWPACK in the adaptive mesh refinement framework of CHOMBO.
  • WENOCLAW -- High order accurate wave-propagation algorithms.
  • sphereCLAW -- Multi-block code for cubed sphere grids
  • MHDCLAW -- Constrained transport algorithm for MHD

• The book Finite Volume Methods for Hyperbolic Problems is in print as of August 2002. Essentially all the examples in this books were produced using CLAWPACK and the source code is available through the link above, or via "Book" on the menu to the left. Matlab scripts have been updated with the release of Version 4.3.

• The Usage page contains an index of various problems and techniques that have been implemented in CLAWPACK, and pointers to a bibliography of papers where this software or closely related wave-propagation methods are used.
