Nathaniel P. Weston is a doctoral candidate in Modern European and Southeast Asian history at the University of Washington, studying the histories of nationalism, colonialism, and social science.  He is currently writing a dissertation on the political and intellectual collaborations between nineteenth-century German anthropologists and Filipino nationalists.  You may reach the author at npw2@u.washington.edu.
