Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we haven’t had the opportunity to meet in person for over a year. Nevertheless, the CFRM staff and faculty have worked tirelessly and collaboratively to help many of our current and incoming students, and continue our partnership with alumni and employers. I was truly inspired by the dedication, efficiency, and creativity of the CFRM team as we overcame challenges and made progress together during this lengthy pandemic.
The CFRM Quantitative Analytics Lab (QAL) has had a successful first year. It has quickly established several strategic partnerships with industry and gained hundreds of followers on LinkedIn. Through research projects, CFRM faculty and students utilize their expertise in quantitative finance, programming, data analytics, and machine learning to craft innovative solutions for practical applications. Some collaborations have even created internships and full-time opportunities. We’re always looking for more, and we hope to hear from you!
The program has also expanded its diversity efforts within the quantitative finance profession. In partnership with Parametric Portfolio Associates, the CFRM MS program is proud to establish the Parametric Fellowship for Opportunity and Advancement in Computational Finance and Risk Management. Parametric fellows are expected to have a strong academic background and professional potential, but also show commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will receive a full tuition waiver and annual living expense stipend. We are very excited to welcome our first Parametric fellow this year.
We just kicked off the new academic year with over 40 on-campus MS-CFRM students and 12 new students for our online program, joining us from across the country and around the world. The CFRM undergraduate major continues to be highly popular and competitive. This academic year also marks the 10th anniversary of the CFRM program, which has evolved so much and educated so many over the past decade. We look forward to celebrating and connecting with everyone in our CFRM community through a series of in-person and virtual activities.
