
English Advising is available
to help with academic and career planning, preparation for graduate school,
and other questions
and concerns of undergraduates, alumni, and prospective
undergraduate and graduate students. We also work with
prospective and certificated teachers interested in the English Language Arts teaching
endorsement for secondary education. We're involved in the UW ArtsLink and
UW WordLink
,
we administer ENGL 491 internships and the English
Study Abroad Programs,
and
we
run annual workshops for English majors on topics such as applying
to
graduate school, and writing the statement of purpose. We provide a home
for Bricolage
,
the UW's undergraduate literary and art magazine, and AU
,
the UW's speculative fiction journal.
We
work
with
the
English
Honors
Society students in Sigma
Tau Delta
.
No advising appointment is necessary. You will normally find our doors unlocked for drop-in advising during the following times. (If you are coming from off campus, you may wish to call first to make sure that an adviser will be available; occasionally, we are all called to meetings: 206.543.2634.)
