Academic Programs
The Lindenberg Center seeks to mobilize and build upon the
resources of the University to engage and educate students
in international humanitarian relief and development work.

International Travel Programs
The Lindenberg Center sponsors programs that help UW students
travel to the developing world for internships, research and
service projects. Through multidisciplinary collaborations,
partnerships with international development and relief organizations,
and International Mobility Grants, the Center seeks to increase
the number of UW students who have an international learning
experience as a part of their degree program.

International Teaching and Research
The Lindenberg Center develops teaching and research expertise
in critical international development areas, such as microfinance
and the strategic use of technology. The Center serves as
the umbrella for new and expanded activities including the
development of interdisciplinary curricula, case studies,
and other resources.

Special Events and Workshops
The Lindenberg Center provides opportunities for the UW and
local communities to connect with international visitors and
experts in the areas of humanitarian action, international
development and global citizenship. Past events include special
presentations on the AIDS pandemic and the war in Iraq as
well as international speakers such as Nobel Laureate Oscar
Arias, UNICEF Executive Director Carol Bellamy, and Peace Corps Director Gaddi H.Vasquez. The
Center also provides cross-cultural communications training
for a wide range of academic institutions, organizations,
and service providers that have diverse student, employee
or client populations.
