Felliniana's interdisciplinary conference will convene on the ten year anniversary of Federico Fellini’s death and the fortieth anniversary of the release of , the director’s definitive and highly influential statement on the challenges and responsibilities of creative life. With this occasion, we have a unique opportunity to contribute to an ongoing evaluation of Fellini’s impact on contemporary culture, from cinema, literature, philosophy, psychoanalysis and politics to music, art, and theatre. The conference will bring together many of the world’s leading experts on cinema and celebrated artists to present a wide-ranging, thoughtful, and provocative examination of Fellini’s life and legacy.

At the heart of the conference is a rigorous and multi-faceted exploration of Fellini’s evolving legacy now, ten years after his death. Few directors continue to fascinate scholars, filmmakers and the movie-going public with such fervor. One of the most recent and poignant cases is Martin Scorsese's tribute to the Italian master as the director who has most inspired his own filmmaking (Martin Scorsese, My Voyage to Italy).
