Field Trip Information

Following Hurricane Sandy, University of Washington, Louisiana State University and New York University collaborated to collect hurricane hazard and damage data as part of an NSF RAPID grant. The team conducted six days of field reconnaissance in December 2012 to collect field data to document layout of power and transit infrastructure and to access these systems for damage and hazard conditions resulting from Hurricane Sandy. The routes travelled by the research team is highlighted in the maps below.
