Back to Case study
Plain-carbon steel Lesson/Tutorial   Steels are iron-carbon alloys that typically contain small amounts of manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon.  When these four extra elements are present in normal amounts the product is called plain-carbon steel.  The three types of plain-carbon steels depend on their carbon content and are low, medium, and high carbon steels.
