| Annually, members of the lab head out for a three-day backpacking adventure to enjoy the spectacular hiking and scenery of the Pacific Northwest.
In 1998, our annual lab trip took us to Watson Lakes in the Mount Baker Wilderness Area, where we spent a night camped between Big and Little Watson Lakes.
We enjoyed amazing views and a dinner that included Mike's freshly caught rainbow trout and lots of wine and tequila.
The next day, we climbed Mt. Watson, passing through alpine meadows with flowers in full bloom.
Finally, we got to a small glacier near the top.
Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Baker both dominated the views from the top of Mt. Watson at 6,200 feet.
