The Seattle Children’s Reach Out and Read (ROAR) program is a reading program coordinated by college volunteers helping distribute books to children at the hospital. When doctors give books to families, it encourages reading and promotes early literacy.
As a Student Coordinator, you will be a part of managing inventory, coordinating purchasing new books, and working with doctors, staff, and several other volunteers to implement the ROAR program. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to shadow an attending, receive a letter of recommendation from the supervising doctor, and obtain help with the medical school application process when the time comes.
The application is open to current college freshmen. If you wish to apply, please email NDVROAR@seattlechildrens.org with your resume and a short (300 words maximum) blurb about yourself and why you are interested in this program.
Applications are due by Sunday, March 8th!
