Introduction to Research in the Biosciences Spring Quarter BIOL 490 (Section B or C, 2 credits)

This discussion-based introduction to research is designed for students who want to focus on cellular, molecular, physiological, and related areas of undergraduate research.

Emphasis on: Demystifying research culture and developing research skills Analyzing a series of research papers with a diverse community of undergraduate researchers Increasing competitiveness for undergraduate research scholarships and graduate & professional programs All students who have an interest in undergraduate research and will have completed BIOL 200 before Spring Quarter are encouraged to apply. Students must confirm a faculty research mentor before the start of the course. If you do not already have a faculty mentor, you may contact the instructor (bjb@uw.edu) for guidance about identifying a mentor during Winter Quarter.
