MEDIC 11/6

Hello Everyone,

On Tuesday, November 6th in Health Sciences T wing room 359 from 5 to 6:30, MEDIC will hold its next meeting. Vishu will be discussing recent changes in how medical errors are disclosed. How can the medical community accurately transmit this information to the community at large? Should medical errors be reported by patients? Are patients best equipped to understand and articulate when a mistake is made? Are physicians better prepared to disclose mistakes they have made? Would this create a conflict of interest?

If you want to read more about this subject before our meeting, these sources give some good background:

Navigating the Health Sciences building can be tricky. Enter through the main T wing entrance on the third floor, turn right, turn left at the first hallway on your left, and when that hallway tees, room 359 is just to your right. Bring your friends! Snacks will be provided.

Also, attached is a flyer regarding the upcoming Bioethics Grand Rounds on Monday, November 5th. We will be attending and would love it if you could join us!

If you have any questions, feel free to email us at medicuw@uw.edu and be sure to like us on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/medicuw for updates about MEDIC and bioethics in the media.

Hope to see you Tuesday,

Zach Simon, Ceri Weber, Michelle Drews, Vishu Anekonda and Claire Simon
