Last AED Events of the Quarter

Greetings Premeds, As dead week and finals loom on the other side of the Thanksgiving Break, I wanted to inform everyone of a few last AED events before the quarter is over. First, an administrative note: if you are planning on becoming an official member, are in the process of becoming a member, or are an official member and have not gotten your T-shirt this year, please fill out this catalyst survey (https://catalyst.uw.edu/quickpoll/vote/amirn4/8492) so we can order the necessary amount of shirts. If you already have been given a shirt, no need to fill this out. Next week is dead week which clearly means you won’t start studying until the Friday anyways, right? So come start the week off with AED’s Gingerbread Hospital Making Social on Monday, December 2 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM in Paccar 295! Put on your ugly Christmas sweaters and get ready for a night of fun for our LAST social of the quarter! We’ll be providing gingerbread house kits and it’s YOUR job to make super cool gingerbread hospitals! This is the time to get super creative! We will be voting on a winner and they will get a prize! Please RSVP by November 30 so we know how many kits to get! (https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/eschrick/219255) So after our great social event, I guess it may be worthwhile to study, so come to AED’s Last Study Session of the quarter on Tuesday, December 3th inSmith 405. Stop by from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and the officer’s will be there for homework help from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM! As a reminder, if you are still interested in having an officer mentor, fill out the catalyst survey: (https://catalyst.uw.edu/webq/survey/jackmo/217942). Also, here are a few philanthropy events to partake in before the end of the quarter: We are in need of people to volunteer with Food Lifeline on December 2 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Since this is AED’s trial run with Food Lifeline, we must reach at least 10 people in order to keep continuing partnerships with them. We would really appreciate it if a few members could come and help out! Every year, NeighborCare nominates deserving families at HighPoint clinic to receive presents for the holidays. Oftentimes, these families don’t have enough money to provide presents for their children. That’s why AED will be sponsoring a few children from HighPoint clinic. We want to reach out for YOUR help! Below is a list of kids with their respective wish lists. The blank slots are already taken care of, but as you can see, there are many slots left. If you provide one of the below items, or decide to split the cost with another AED member (if so, details to be worked out with Mitchell), we would be more than happy to count this as a Philanthropy event. If you are interested, please contact Mitchell Chen at chenm16@uw.edu for more details or to arrange a pick-up time/location.
