One week summer course in Rome – Translational Medicine

SUMMER COURSE IN ROME, ITALY BENCH TO BEDSIDE: TRANSLATIONAL MOLECULAR RESEARCH Offered by George Mason University and Istituto Superiore Di Sanita’

July 11- July 15, 2011

Led by Drs. Lance Liotta and Ruggero De Maria, this unique course consists of lectures and hands-on workshops providing exposure to modern translational research and personalized medicine. Lectures will cover the biology of selected human diseases (cancer, cardiac and renal diseases), new technologies relevant to personalized medicine (genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, modern imaging techniques), clinical research trial design and bioethics of translational research.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about the exciting new field of translational research and personalized medicine. Credits (3 graduate credits with letter grade) are offered through George Mason University; CME credits are also available. Tuition includes single accomodations and half board; airfare is not included.
