Pre-Vet Student? Considering International Volunteering?
There are many ways to do animal-related volunteer work globally, but how do you know which way is best for you? Are expensive pay-to-volunteer programs like VIDA worth it? What options do you have if you don’t have a lot of money to spend? I’m a pre-vet senior at UW, and I am not a paid recruiter for any of the “volunteer abroad” projects you see advertised on campus, so I have no financial interest in selling you anything. I have veterinary-related volunteer experiences in 4 countries with 5 different projects.
