The Doctors Company Announces 2011 Dividend for Members in Ohio

The Doctors Company, the largest insurer of physician and surgeon medical liability in both Ohio and the U.S., and the endorsed carrier of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, is pleased to announce a 10 percent dividend to reward its Ohio member physicians for their dedication to the practice of good medicine.

The 2011 dividend credit, approved by The Doctors Company’s Board of Governors, will be applied as a 10 percent premium reduction to its nearly 5,000 members in Ohio on policy renewals on or after July 1, 2011.

“Our strong dividend is made possible by the excellent claims experience of our members,” said Richard E. Anderson, MD, FACP, chairman and CEO. “The dividend is just one of the ways in which we recognize our member physicians for their commitment to superior patient care.”

This year, The Doctors Company is returning $23 million in dividends to members across the country. Since 1976, over $207 million in dividends has been paid to its members.
