Biology Students for Equity (BSE) is a newly formed RSO that with hopes to further the conversation on issues of equity in STEM and create opportunities for students from all backgrounds interested in pursuing a career in biology. We are currently recruiting mentors for the 2018 academic year! We are looking for highly motivated biology majors who have completed the introductory biology series. As a mentor, you will be paired with a student in the introductory biology series who shares similar interests as yourself to help them navigate the biology department and provide other advice/support. Expect to spend anywhere between 1 to 3 hours a week working with your mentor, either attending club meetings/events or just checking in. This is a great way to develop your leadership and communication skills while helping someone in need! We plan to hold a brief training session for prospective mentors during winter quarter 2018 (time TBA) prior to first meeting with your mentees. If you’d like to take part in this opportunity, please submit your applications by Friday, January 12th:
